Barbecued Beef Short Ribs

  1. Rub ribs well with bottled sauce for gravy.
  2. In hot fat, in Dutch oven, brown ribs well, about 15 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, onion and celery.
  4. Stir in cornstarch, tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, allspice, mustard, vinegar and sugar.
  5. Simmer, covered, turning occasionally, 1 1/2 hours or until ribs are fork-tender. Cook noodles as directed on package; drain.
  6. Toss with caraway seed, if desired.
  7. Serve ribs, sliced on noodles, pass gravy separately.
