smothered chicken
- 4 chicken boneless chicken breasts
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1/2 cup mushrooms
- 6 cup chicken stock
- 1 can cream of mushroom
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp horse radish
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 pack chopped bacon
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup french fried onions
- Turn slow cooker on low
- Place 4 chicken breast in slow cooker.
- Add chicken stock, onion cayenne pepper, garlic powder, 1 can of cream of mushroom, salt and pepper and sliced mushrooms
- In small frying pan cook half a pack of chopped bacon
- Cook on low for 6 hours.
- Remove some slow cooker and add to glass baking dish.
- Place to cup of broth from slow cooker and pour over chicken breasts.
- Add horse radish and mayo and a pinch of sugar to a bowl and mix well.
- Apply a thin coat on top of each chicken breast.
- Then top chicken breast with shredded cheddar cheese bacon green onions and French fried onions.
- Bake at 350 until French fried onions are brown and cheese is melted.
