Chile Con Carne With Beans Recipe
- 3 tbsp. corn oil
- 1 large onion, minced
- 1 large green pepper, minced
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 (16 ounce.) can tomatoes
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce.) can tomato soup
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tbsp. chili pwdr
- 1 clove garlic, minced fine
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (1 lb.) can kidney beans
- Heat oil in a 10 inch skillet.
- Add in onion, green pepper and meat.
- Cook till brown, stirring occasionally.
- Add in next 6 ingredients.
- Cover.
- Simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Add in more water if mix gets too thick.
- Combine garlic and salt; add in with beans to mix.
- Heat.
- Serves 6.
- Variation: Other types of beans can be substituted.
