Kona Crusted Steak
- 13 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Ground Kona Coffee, Decaffeinated
- 1/4 cups Parmesan Cheese, Grated
- 1/4 cups Dry Mustard
- 1/4 cups Granulated Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper, Coarse
- 2 Tablespoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt
- 4 whole Steaks, I Prefer Sirloin, But This Is Great On Any Steak
- Combine all ingredients, excepts steaks, in a bowl; mix with fingers to break up any clumps.
- Depending on the cheese, you may want to pulse the blend in the bowl of your food processor a few times.
- Dry steaks and dredge in the rub and press into the meat.
- Let rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or however long it takes to get your grill ready for direct grilling.
- I use charcoal and that takes at least 30 minutes.
- Clean and oil yor grill grates when the coals are ready.
- Grill each steak for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on the thickness.
- My steaks are usually thicker, so we grill all 4 sides.
- Grill to perfection!
- Medium rare for me!
