Christmas Tree Bread

  1. Sprinkle yeast into warm water.
  2. Let stand a few minutes, then stir until dissolved.
  3. Add salt, sugar, cooled milk, butter, eggs and 4 cups flour.
  4. Beat with spoon until well mixed.
  5. Stir in remaining flour and rest of ingredients and mix well.
  6. Turn out on a slightly floured board.
  7. Add flour as needed to prevent sticking. Knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  8. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in size.
  9. This takes about 2 1/2 hours.
