Pinwheel Cinnamon Biscuits Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Grease a cooking sheet.
  3. Sift flour in a large bowl.
  4. Add in baking pwdr and salt and nix with a fork.
  5. Cut in shortening till mix looks like "meal".
  6. Stir with a fork to moisten ingredients.
  7. If necessary pour in rest of lowfat milk.
  8. The mix should round up into a ball (too much stirring makes a tough biscuit).
  9. Place dough on a lightly floured board.
  10. Roll the ball around gently 3 to 4 times to coat lightly with flour.
  11. Knead 10 times.
  12. Lightly roll the dough into a rectangle 7 x 12 inch.
  13. Spread with softened butter.
  14. Mix 5 Tbsp.
  15. sugar and 3/4 tsp.
  16. cinnamon together and sprinkle over dough.
  17. Starting at the long side roll up like a jelly roll.
  18. Healthy pinch ends to seal.
  19. Cut into 12 slices.
  20. Bake cut side up 10 to 15 min.
