Homestyle Chili

  1. drain soaked beans.
  2. place in 6 qt pan and cover with water, simmer until tender, about an hour
  3. crumble meat in skillet with onion, pepper, and garlic.
  4. brown evenly.
  5. add meat, tomatoes, and seasonings to beans
  6. simmer another 20 minutes
  7. if needed, add 1/4 cup cornmeal to thicken, simmer another 15 minutes
  8. serve and enjoy
  9. goes great with fried cornbread.
