Low Fat Lentil Chili
- 8 ounces pork lean, boneless or ground turkey
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 16 ounces tomatoes cut up, undrained
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 each celery stalks, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 each onions chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1 cup lentils
- 3/4 cups tomato juice spicy
- Trim any fat from meat.
- Cut meat in 1/2 inch cubes.
- Heat a non stick saucepan or pan sprayed with cooking oil over medium heat.
- Brown meat quickly and stir in remaining ingredients.
- Bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about one hour or until lentils are tender.
- Makes 4 servings.
