Cube Steak Bavarian Style Recipe
- 4 beef cubed steaks (1-1 1/4 lb.)
- 1 tbsp. veg. oil
- 1/3 c. minced onion
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 2 env. mushroom gravy mix
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- In large skillet, quickly brown steaks on both sides in warm oil.
- Add in onion; cook till onion is almost tender, about 5 min.
- Combine water, mushroom gravy mix, brown sugar, vinegar and caraway seed; pour over steaks in skillet.
- Cover; simmer for 15 min.
- Skim off excess fat.
- Serve with gravy.
- Makes 4 servings.
