Maryland Crab Cakes Recipe
- 1 pound crab meat
- 3 slices white bread, cubed (no crust)
- 1 lg. egg or possibly 2 sm.
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- butter">butter, butter">butter or possibly Crisco for frying
- Remove all cartilage from crab meat.
- In a bowl, mix egg, bread, mayonnaise and seasonings.
- Add in crab meat and mix gently.
- If dry, add in more mayonnaise.
- Shape into 6 cakes.
- Cook in just sufficient fat not to stick.
- 5 min to a side.
