Volunteer Taco Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef; remove from heat and drain off excessive liquid and fat.
  3. Add onion, powder, seasoning, and tomato sauce; mix and set aside.
  4. In a medium-sized bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Place half the crushed chips in a bottom of 2 1/2- quart casserole dish that has been coated with non-stick vegetable spray. Add enough meat mixture to cover chips, then cover with half the sour cream mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with half the shredded cheese. Repeat layers.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes, until cheese melts and casserole is heat through.
