Cabbage With Turkey Bacon and Mustard
- 1 medium cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 34 lb turkey bacon, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons coarse grain mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 14 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons tamari
- 14 cup milk, divided
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 12 cup water
- pepper
- 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
- Heat canola oil in large skillet on medium-high heat.
- Cook bacon until slightly crisped.
- Add garlic and stir until fragrant.
- Deglaze pan with mirin.
- Turn heat down to medium.
- Add flour.
- Add half of the milk.
- Stir to thicken for about one minute.
- Add other half of the milk with the mustard.
- Stir to mix thoroughly.
- Add cabbage.
- Stir and cook on medium-high heat for about 3 minutes until cabbage is tender.
- Add tamari and water to steam the cabbage a bit more.
- Cook for another 3-5 minutes.
- Season with pepper.
- Put mixture on serving dish.
- Garnish with chopped tomatoes.
