'Kuromame' Black Soy Beans Made in a Pressure Cooker

  1. Combine the ingredients, turn on the heat, and cook until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Thoroughly wash the kuromame and cover with the mixture overnight.
  3. Add Step 1 to the pressure cooker, cover with the lid, and turn the heat to high.
  4. When pot begins to shake, lower the heat and steam for 20 minutes.
  5. Stop the heat and let cool.
  6. They're done.
  7. Letting the beans sit in the broth for a short time allows for the flavors to blend together and the beans will become nice and plump.
