Pecan Sherried Onions

  1. Cook the onions in boiling salted water for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  2. Drain.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and blend in flour and salt.
  4. Add the milk all at once, then cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in sherry.
  6. Add onions and heat through.
  7. Top with pecans and serve.
