The Louisville Sling
- 2 tablespoons superfine sugar
- 1 ounce tamarind concentrate
- 1 1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice
- 8 ounces club soda, more to taste
- Angostura bitters, for serving
- 4 3-inch strips orange zest, for garnish
- In a cocktail shaker, combine sugar with 2 tablespoons hot tap water and shake until sugar dissolves.
- Add tamarind and lemon; shake well.
- Pour into ice-filled highball glasses.
- Top with club soda and add two dashes of bitters to each glass.
- Hold each orange strip under a match or lighter for 10 seconds until it just begins to color.
- Twist strips and drop one into each drink; serve.
