Puff Filo Spinach Squares
- 12 sheets frozen filo dough (18 x 14-inch rectangles), thawed
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 2 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen spinach souffle, thawed
- 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
- Arrange 6 sheets of the filo dough in the bottom of a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan, brushing butter or margarine between each sheet.
- Allow edges of dough to overlap sides of pan.
- Spread souffle evenly over dough; sprinkle with water chestnuts.
- Top with remaining filo, brushing butter between each sheet.
- Fold edges of filo toward center; brush with remaining butter.
- Score top layers of filo into 48 squares or diamonds.
- Bake in a 400u0b0 oven 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly; cut through all layers.
- Serve warm or cold.
- Makes 48 appetizers.
