Chicken Biryani

  1. Place rice in medium bowl.
  2. Add enough cold water to cover rice.
  3. Let stand 10 min.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat.
  5. Add cumin seed; cook and stir 30 sec.
  6. Stir in onions, garlic and ginger; cook 5 min.
  7. or until crisp-tender, stirring constantly.
  8. Add chicken and ground cumin; cook and stir 2 min.
  9. Drain rice.
  10. Add to chicken mixture with all remaining ingredients except yogurt; mix well.
  11. Bring to boil; cover.
  12. Simmer on low heat 22 to 24 min.
  13. or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  14. Serve topped with yogurt.
