Aunt Myrna's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Beat sugars, shortening, eggs & vanilla until fluffy.
  2. Mix in flour, soda & salt.
  3. Stir in oatmeal and chips by hand.
  4. Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes or so to moisten the oatmeal.
  5. Drop on cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees, 8 minutes on bottom rack and 8 minutes on top rack.
