Lentil Stew German Style
- 2 cups lentils (dry)
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups broth
- 1 potato
- 1 carrot
- 3 slices smoked bacon (smoked and salted) or 3 slices pork belly (smoked and salted)
- 18 teaspoon cumin
- 14 teaspoon paprika
- salt
- pepper
- Dice potatoes and carrots small.
- Ad lentils, potatoes and carrots and the bacon or pork belly slices in a large pot, season and boil with 2 cups of broth and 1 cup of water for approximately 1 hour.
- Ad the remaining 1 cup ounce by ounce if stew gets too thick over time.
- Stew is best re-heated the next day :D if you want it quicker just let stew cool down and re-heat.
- Stew should be very thick with little liquid.
