Hot Green Beans
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans French style green beans
- 5 tablespoons vinegar
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 12 cup green olives (sliced)
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 5 slices bacon (fried and save the drippings)
- 3 tablespoons bacon drippings, cooled
- 12 cup almonds (slivered or sliced, sliced water chestnuts can be substituted)
- I drain the beans leaving a small amount of liquid.
- Fry bacon and save the drippings.
- Crumble bacon and mix all ingredients.
- Marinate overnight in an ovenproof dish.
- Preheat oven to 300F and bake covered for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and continue baking another 15-20 minutes.
