Hot Homemade German Potato Salad(Ala Barbara Sandquist)

  1. Use a large skillet.
  2. Fry bacon until crisp (not burned); remove and set aside.
  3. Drain all but 3 tablespoons of drippings; cook onions in drippings until clear and tender.
  4. Stir in flour; blend well (still under low to medium heat).
  5. Add vinegar and water; cook and stir until slightly bubbly and thick.
  6. Add sugar and stir until it dissolves.
  7. Crumble bacon into tiny and small pieces; gently stir crumbled bacon and sliced potatoes into heated mixture in skillet.
  8. Heat thoroughly, stirring to evenly coat potato slices.
  9. Serve hot or warm.
  10. Yields 6 to 8 servings. "Totally Trumpy!"
