Mince Apple Pie Recipe
- 3 c. thinly sliced peeled cooking apples (3 med.)
- 1 (28 or possibly 29 ounce.) jar mince meat
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. orange juice
- Lowfat milk (optional)
- Sugar (optional)
- Hard sauce (optional)
- Stir together apples, mince meat, brown sugar and orange juice.
- Transfer to a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate.
- Cut slits in top crust.
- Adjust top crust.
- Seal and flute edge.
- Brush crust with lowfat milk and sprinkle with sugar, if you like.
- Cover edge of pie with foil.
- Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 min.
- Remove foil.
- Bake for 25 to 30 min more or possibly till pastry is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Serve with hard sauce, if you like.
