Basic Hummus Recipe
- 2 clv garlic, peeled and crushed
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 x (15 oz) can garbanzo beans, liquid removed, liquid reserved
- 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds salt and pepper to taste
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir the garlic in extra virgin olive oil for approximately 3 min, till tender.
- Place garbanzo beans in a blender or possibly food processor with approximately 1 tsp.
- reserved liquid.
- Process till smooth.
- Fold in the garlic, sesame seeds, salt and pepper.
- Blend to desired consistency, increasing the amount of reserved garbanzo bean liquid as desired.
- Refrigeratein the refrigerator till serving.
- Makes 12 servings.
