Beans, Garbanzo With Sausage Recipe
- 1 1/2 lbs. pork sausage links
- 2 med. green peppers, cut into bite sized chunks
- 1 med. onion, sliced
- 1 (28 ounce.) can tomatoes in tomato puree
- 1 (15 1/2 - 19 ounce.) can garbanzo beans, liquid removed
- 3/4 teaspoon dry thyme leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- About 30 min before serving, cut each pork sausage link cross wise in half.
- In 12" skillet and 1/4 c. water to boiling.
- Cover and cook 5 min, remove cover and add in peppers and onion, heat to boiling.
- Continue cooking sausage mix 15 min, stirring occasionally.
- Add in tomatoes, garbanzo beans, thyme, sugar and salt to mix over high heat, heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook 5 min.
- Yield: 6 servings.
