German Cookies

  1. Sift dry ingredients and set aside.
  2. Beat eggs, sugar and shortening until fluffy.
  3. Add milk, dry ingredients, raisins and nuts.
  4. Mix only until moistened.
  5. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan (12 x 17-inch) or whatever will produce a 1 or 2-inch cookie. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Ice with a thin layer of chocolate frosting or coffee frosting while still warm.
  7. Produces a brownie-like cookie.
  8. Christmas is not complete without this one! Yield:
  9. Twenty 2-inch squares.
