Chocolate Shortcake

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, soda and cinnamon.
  2. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and water; bring to a full boil over mediun heat.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Add dry ingrediants, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured 15-1/2x10-1/2-inch jelly roll pan and bake at 400F.
  7. Bake 20 minutes.
  8. Icing: Bring just to a boil in saucepan the butter, cocoa and buttermilk.
  9. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla, nuts or coconut.
  10. Spread over warm cake.
