Frito Plate
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 package (1 Oz. Packet) Taco Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Chopped Fresh Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Rosemary
- 1 pinch Sea Salt
- 2 pinches Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Rubbed Sage
- 1 teaspoon Thyme
- 2 cans (16 Oz. Can) Your Favorite Chili With Beans
- 1 jar (24 Oz. Jar) Spaghetti Sauce
- 2 cups Cooked Rice (Brown Or White)
- 1 bag (9 Oz. Bag) Fritos Scoops
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef.
- Once all pink is gone, add in the taco seasoning.
- Stir to combine and cook for about 2 minutes so the flavor can incorporate.
- Add in the garlic, rosemary, salt, pepper, sage and thyme.
- Next add the cans of chili (homemade works too!)
- and stir to combine.
- Begin adding the spaghetti sauce; you dont want the mixture to be too saucy so add a little at a time.
- Turn heat to a simmer and finish adding sauce if necessary.
- In the meantime, cook the rice if you havent already.
- Let the meat mixture simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes, enough time for all the flavors to meld.
- Continue stirring so it doesnt stick to the bottom.
- When the rice is finished, pour a plateful of Fritos.
- Sprinkle rice on top of the chips, and follow with generous spoonfuls of meat mixture.
- At this point you can top it with things like shredded cheddar, tomatoes, olives, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, whatever your heart desires!
- I recommend keeping a fork nearby.
- Enjoy!
