Spiced Apples
- 6 -8 granny smith apples, cored, skin left on
- 1 12 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon lactose-free margarine
- 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
- 14 cup of chopped maraschino cherry
- 12 cup chopped maple walnuts (optional)
- 3 cups non-dairy milk substitute
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3-inch baking oblate
- pre-heat oven at 325 degrees
- Wash apples and core with skin on ( do not core all the way through apples)
- place apples in pan sprayed with pam.
- In a small mixing bowl add brown sugar cinnimon, all-spice mix well.
- place tabs of margarine(optional) inside each center of cored apples, add chopped cherries, chopped walnuts into apple holes then spoon in sugar mixture into each apple.
- bake apples in oven at 325 degrees until pierced with toothpick slightly firm.
- ( over bag will result in mushy apples)
- remove from oven and let set for 5-10 minute( mixture will thicken when cooling down)
- Take 3 cups of non- dairy coffee creamer( any brand) and using hot water from tap, add 1 tsp of vanilla extract in a bowl and mix well( use in place of milk or can be used with soy milk also)
- place baked apples in bowls and pour milk mixture over apples
- and enjoy!
