Cinnamon Twists
- 2 cups sour cream
- 6 tablespoons Crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 large eggs
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 14 ounce yeast (package)
- 14 cup warm water
- 13 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 12 cups flour (or enough to make soft dough)
- Boil cream and crisco, let cool.
- Add sugar, soda, salt and eggs.
- Mix well.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add to mixture.
- Mix all together with enough flour to make a soft dough.
- Place on floured surface and knead lightly.
- Cover and let rest 5 minute Roll dough about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread with 2 Tablespoons melted butter.
- Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon and spread on half the dough.
- Fold other half over and cut in 1 inch wide strips.
- Twist and place on greased cookie sheet.
- Let rise 1 hour, 15 minute Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Frost lightly with powdered sugar frosting while warm.
