Date Filled Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

• 1 c. brown sugar
• 1 c. shortening
• 2 Large eggs
• 2 c. flour
• 2 c. oatmeal
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr

1. Combine all ingredients for cookies.
2. Cook date filling and let cold a little.
3. Roll out dough on floured board.
4. With donut cutter roll out half of the dough with the hole of cutter out and other half with hole in.
5. Put cookies on cookie sheet.
6. Put the cookie without the hole on sheet, put tsp.
7. of filling on top of base of cookie top with cookie with the hole out so filling shows through hole.
8. Bake in 350 degree oven till lightly browned, 10 min.
9. No matter what scales we use, we can never know the weight of another person's burdens.
