Butter Pecan Cake With Praline Frosting Recipe
- 2/3 c. butter flavor Crisco
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. minced pecans
- PRALINE FROSTING:1/2 c butter flavor Crisco1/2 c minced pecans1/4 c milk1/2 tsp vanilla3 to 3-1/2 c confectioners' sugar
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease and flour 13x9 pan.
- Cream Crisco, sugars, Large eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Add in buttermilk, flour, soda, baking pwdr, and salt.
- Beat at low speed until blended.
- Beat at med.
- speed 2 min.
- Stir in pecans.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes, until toothpick tests clean.
- Cold before frosting.
- PRALINE FROSTING
- 1/2 c butter flavor Crisco1/2 c minced pecans1/4 c milk1/2 tsp vanilla3 to 3-1/2 c confectioners' sugar
- In small saucepan combine Crisco and pecans.
- Cook over med heat until Crisco is melted.
- Blend in lowfat milk and vanilla.
- Transfer to bowl.
- Add in Confectioners' sugar one c. at a time, beating at medium speed until it reaches the desired consistency.
