Big, Fat Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla; add eggs and mix until smooth.
  3. Mix milk and yogurt together.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Mix all dry ingredients (except cocoa) together.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk/yogurt mixture.
  7. Mix cocoa with hot water to form a paste.
  8. Beat into batter.
  9. Pour into well-greased pan.
  10. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes for 2 layers; 45 to 50 minutes for tube pan.
  11. Frost with buttercream frosting.
