Honey Walnut Mazurka

  1. In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, instant flour and baking powder.
  2. Cut butter into small pieces; add to mixture. Blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add sugar, yolks, sour cream and vanilla; knead into
  4. a smooth dough.
  5. Cover bowl; refrigerate overnight.
  6. In bowl, combine walnuts and powdered sugar.
  7. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  8. Divide dough into thirds.
  9. On a lightly floured surface, roll one part to a 13 x 9-inch rectangle. Line bottom and sides of 13 x 9-inch pan with waxed paper.
  10. Place rolled dough in pan.
  11. Spread 2/3 cup apricot preserves over dough. Sprinkle one cup walnut mixture over apricot.
  12. Drizzle 4 teaspoons honey over walnuts.
  13. Roll 2nd part of dough into 13 x 9-inch.
  14. Place on top of first layer; press gently to smooth. Repeat filling over 2nd layer.
  15. Repeat with 3rd layer of dough and filling.
  16. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  17. Let cool. Makes 20 to 24 servings.
