Sugar Diamonds

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Combine flour, cinnamon and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. Spoon into a greased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.
  5. Cover dough with plastic wrap and press evenly into pan; remove wrap.
  6. In another mixing bowl, beat egg white until foamy; brush over dough.
  7. Sprinkle with pecans.
  8. Bake at 300F (150C) until golden.
