Creamy Orange Rings Recipe
- 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp. grated orange peel
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans Pillsbury refrigerated quick crescent dinner rolls
- 1/3 c. minced almonds
- Combine cream cheese, granulated sugar and peel, mixing till well blended.
- For each can of rolls, unroll dough onto lightly floured surface.
- Overlap long edges of rectangle to create 13 x 7 inches, pressing edges together to seal.
- Spread rectangle with half of cream cheese mix.
- Sprinkle with half of almonds.
- Roll up dough, starting with long side, pressing edges together to seal.
- Shape into ring, seam-side down, on greased cookie sheet.
- Press ends together to seal.
- Cut 2/3 through ring from outer edge at 1-inch intervals, leaving center of ring intact.
- Turn each section on its side.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 15 min.
- Combine powdered sugar and juice, drizzle on hot coffee cake ring.
- Garnish with maraschino cherry halves and additional almonds to make flowers.
