Our Nursery School's Tofu & Ground Meat Miso Au Gratin

  1. Prepping: Drain the excess water from the tofu.
  2. Mix together the sauce ingredients - mayonnaise, miso, sake and sugar.
  3. Finely shop the shiso leaves.
  4. The meat-miso mix: Brown the ground meat and flavor with the meat-miso mix ingredients - miso, mirin, sake, salt and pepper.
  5. Turn the heat off, and add the chopped shiso leaves.
  6. Cut the tofu into pieces, and put into a gratin dish.
  7. Put in the meat-miso mix, then the sauce, and bake in the oven until browned on top.
  8. Finished!
  9. The photo shows a single serving baked in a dish.
  10. Variations: Add whatever ingredients you like!
  11. Mushrooms, eggplants, green onions and cheese are popular.
