Bishop'S Bread
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. glazed semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1 c. finely snipped dates
- 1 c. halved glazed cherries
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- Heat oven to 325u0b0.
- Grease 10 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan; line bottom with wax paper.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
- Stir in chocolate pieces, nuts, dates and cherries until well coated with flour.
- Beat eggs well in large bowl at medium speed of mixer.
- Fold in flour mixture.
- Turn into loaf pan.
- Bake 1 1/2 hours or until done.
- Cool in pan on wire rack. When cool, remove from pan; wrap in foil and store.
- Serve in slices.
- Makes 1 loaf.
