Barbecue Sauce With Honey Recipe
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 c. finely minced onions
- 2 tbsp. finely minced garlic
- 1 (28 ounce.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. red wine vinegar
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp. chili pwdr
- 1 tbsp. grnd coriander
- 3 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp. Tabasco sauce or possibly to taste
- 2 tbsp. minced fresh oregano or possibly 1 tbsp. dry
- 2 teaspoon grnd cumin
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme or possibly 1 teaspoon dry
- 1 teaspoon freshly grnd black pepper
- 4 tbsp. honey
- Salt to taste
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and add in the onions.
- Cook, stirring, till wilted.
- Add in the garlic, cook briefly and add in the remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring often, about 30 min.
- Let the sauce cold and use for basting.
- This sauce is good for any barbecued meat and keeps very well refrigerated.
- Yield: 5 c..
