American Style Pilsner Recipe
- 6 2/3 lb Superbrau light malt
- 3 ounce Hallertauer hops -- boil
- 30 x 45 minutes
- 1 ounce Saaz hops -- finishing
- 1 pkt Vierka lager yeast
- 4 ounce Priming sugar
- Boild one gal of water, add in syrup, stir till dissolved.
- Return to heat.
- Add in 3 ounce hallertauer hops and boild for 30-45 minutes.
- In last 5-10 min of boil, add in the saaz hops.
- Add in to 4 gal of cool water.
- When cooled to below 80 degrees, pitch yeast.
- Fermentation at 45-55 degrees should go as follows: 10-14 days in primary fermenter, 2-3 weeks in secondary and 6 weeks in the bottle.
- OSG: 1040-1050 FSG: 1008-1012
