Willie'S Homemade Vegetable Beef Soup
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 large can whole potatoes, diced
- 1 small can peas
- 1 small can sliced carrots
- 1 small can corn
- 1 small can green beans
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 1/2 cans water (more if needed)
- 1 can whole tomatoes, crushed
- In large stock pot, brown ground chuck and onion.
- Add tomato soup, tomatoes and water.
- Add potatoes, peas, carrots, corn and green beans to meat mixture.
- Season with basil, salt, seasoned salt, pepper and sugar.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
- Simmer, covered, for 1/2 hour.
- If soup is too thin you can make a cornstarch thickening and add to soup for texture and thickness. (Two tablespoons cornstarch and 1/2 cup water.
- Mix and pour gradually into soup.)
