Oriental Pepper Steak
- 1 lb. 3/4-inch lean pork chunks
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. pepper flakes
- 2 tsp. instant minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. catsup
- 1/4 tsp. ground mustard
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- Dredge pork chunks flour in and garlic salt.
- Brown well in oil.
- Drain.
- Add 1 1/2 cups water, pepper flakes, instant minced onion, catsup, ground mustard, soy sauce and ginger.
- Simmer 25 minutes.
- Combine cornstarch, 1 tablespoon water and honey.
- Stir into pork mixture.
- Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute.
- Serve over cooked rice.
- Makes four 3/4 cup servings.
