Garlic Football Toast

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Cut off crust from each slice of bread with kitchen shears or knife, shaping slice into an oval resembling a football.
  3. Cut 2 slices cheese into 6 (4x5/8-inch) strips each (12 strips).
  4. Cut remaining 2 slices cheese into 12 (2x5/8-inch) strips each (24 strips).
  5. Combine melted butter and garlic salt in small bowl.
  6. Place bread slices onto large ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Brush slices with half of butter mixture.
  8. Bake 4-6 minutes or until toasted.
  9. Turn slices over; brush with remaining butter mixture.
  10. Make football design by placing 1 long cheese strip in center of bread.
  11. Place 2 short cheese strips across long cheese strip.
  12. Curve 1 slice red pepper on each end of bread about 1/4 inch from end.
  13. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  14. Bake 3-4 minutes or until cheese starts to melt.
  15. Serve warm.
  16. *Substitute 12 slices whole grain wheat bread.
