Apple Plum Chutney Recipe

  1. Combine 1 c. water and sugar in heavy large saucepan over high heat.
  2. Bring to boil, stirring till sugar dissolves.
  3. Add in vinegar, ginger, garlic, half of plums, and apple.
  4. Boil 5 min.
  5. Add in remaining plums, orange peel, and cinnamon.
  6. Bring to gentle boil; cook till syrupy, stirring occasionally, about 12 min.
  7. Cold to room temperature.
  8. (Can be made 3 days ahead.
  9. Cover and chill.
  10. Bring to room temperature before serving.)
  11. This recipe yields about 2 c..
  12. Comments: Try this with grilled lamb chops, pork, or possibly chicken.
  13. Yield: 2 c.
