Linda's Pfefferneuse
- 34 cup honey
- 34 cup unsulphured molasses
- 14 cup margarine
- 1 large egg
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 34 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 12 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 14 teaspoon ground aniseed
- Combine honey, molasses and margarine in a large pan and warm together over low heat.
- Allow to cool and add in one egg (slightly beaten).
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Add the molasses mixture slowly, then cool dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Take 1/4 of the dough at a time and roll into 3/4 inch wide logrolls and cut into small cylinders, then roll these pieces into 3/4 inch balls.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
