Anne'S Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped yellow onion
- 1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
- 1 small can mushroom pieces (not drained)
- 1 (14 oz.) spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 c. tomato catsup
- 1/2 tsp. salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- Using large skillet or Dutch oven, brown meat and drain off fat
- using
- strainer.
- Return
- to
- heat;
- add
- onion, bell pepper and
- mushrooms
- (with
- liquid
- from
- can).
- Cook until onions
- are translucent, stirring often.
- Add spaghetti sauce, catsup, salt and pepper.
- If sauce is too thick, water may be added
- until desired
- consistency
- is reached.
- Simmer for at least 30
- minutes to
- blend flavors, longer if needed.
- Serve over cooked thin spaghetti or vermicelli.
