Apple Crisp Cake With Caramel Sauce Recipe
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 pkt yellow cake mix (butter recipe)
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 x Large eggs
- 4 c. thinly sliced, peeled apples
- 1 1/2 c. caramel ice cream topping
- 1/2 c. minced pecans
- Generously grease and flour a 13"x9" pan.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, oats and brown sugar; mix well.
- With a fork or possibly pastry blender, cut in 1/2 c. butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs.
- Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients except apples; beat at low speed till moistened.
- Beat 2 min at high speed.
- Pour batter into greased and floured pan.
- Arrange apple slices over top of batter.
- Sprinkle with topping.
- Bake at 350 F. for 55 - 60 min or possibly till deep golden.
- Cold 5 min before serving.
- In a small saucepan, combine sauce ingredients.
- Cook over medium heat till hot, stirring constantly.
- Serve hot sauce over hot cake.
