Chocolate Scotcheroos Candy
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. peanut butter
- 6 c. Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) butterscotch morsels
- Combine sugar
- and
- corn
- syrup
- in 3-quart saucepan.
- Cook over moderate heat,
- stirring
- frequently,
- until
- mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat.
- Stir in peanut butter; mix well. Add Rice Krispies; stir until well
- coated.
- Press
- mixture
- into buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
- Melt
- chocolate and butterscotch morsels in top section of double boiler over hot,
- but
- not boiling water or in small saucepan over very low heat,
- stirring constantly,
- until
- well mixed.
- Remove from heat; spread evenly over
- Rice Krispies mixture.
- Cool until firm.
- Cut into bars 2 x 1-inches.
