Cabbage Lasagna Recipe
- 2 lb Grnd beef
- 1 x Onion, minced
- 1 x Green pepper, minced
- 1 med head cabbage, shredded
- 1 tsp Orgeano
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/8 tsp Pepper
- 18 ounce Tomato paste, Or possibly Tomato paste with Italian seasonings
- 8 ounce Mozzarella cheese, sliced*
- * Delicious using half Provolone cheese, half mozzarella cheese.
- Saute/fry grnd beef, onion and green pepper till meat is brown.
- Drain well.
- Meanwhile, boil cabbage till tender, 2-5 min.
- Combine 2 c. of liquid form cabbage with oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste.
- Simmer or possibly Microwave for 5 min.
- Add in meat-vegetables mix.
- Simmer for 5 min more.
- Spoon half of the tomato-meat mix into a 13x9" pan.
- Layer well-liquid removed cabbage on sauce then rest of sauce.
- Top with sliced cheese to cover.
- Bake at 400 F. for 25-40 min.
- Cheese can be added during last 5-10 min .
- Can Microwave for a while and then finish in oven, to cut down cooking time.
- NOTES : Easily cut in half and baked in 7x11" baking dish.
