Broccoli Chicken Treasure Recipe
- 1 chicken
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 2 c. chicken broth Or possibly
- 2 c. water with 3-4 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 c. mayonnaise
- 2 Packages frzn broccoli spears
- 1/2 c. Pepperidge Farm herb seasoned stuffing
- 1 pkg. Rice-A-Roni, any flavor, cooked
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts
- Boil chicken on top of stove and cold.
- Cut up in bite-size pcs.
- Mix lowfat milk, flour, and salt (if you use chicken bouillon, leave out salt) and add in to butter; then add in chicken broth.
- Cook till creamy and thick.
- Beat lemon juice and mayonnaise together and stir into cream sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir well.
- Layer: Start with rice, chicken and chestnuts, broccoli.
- Pour sauce over top and cover with herb seasoned stuffing.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.
