Cheesy Corn Bake
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. grated American cheese (about 6 oz.)
- 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 Tbsp. onion flakes
- 1 (30 to 32 oz.) pkg. frozen corn, thawed and drained
- 2 Tbsp. diced red pepper
- 2 Tbsp. diced green pepper
- 3/4 c. lean, cooked ham, trimmed and diced
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a 3-quart saucepan, over low heat, melt margarine.
- Whisk in flour, garlic powder and cayenne pepper. Blend well and slowly add milk, whisking constantly, until smooth.
- Increase heat to medium and cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbling.
